Long Term - ClearShield:   Introduction  |  ClearShield System  |  ClearShield In Use  |  Awards

Award Winning Technology

No unprotected elements are safe from the harsh effects of weather combined with the harmful corrosive reactions of pollutions; and glass is no surprise.

The surface of glass is not smooth and consists of microscopic peaks and potholes, ideal for both organic and inorganic contaminants to sit, occupy and chemically react with the glass, disfiguring its clear and pristine surface.

Unlike a coating, ClearShield becomes part of the glass so it will not peel, flake or crack and prevents contaminants from attaching and bonding to the surface and limits further damage caused by corrosion and chemical attack.

ClearShield is a polymeric resin and, when applied to ordinary glass, it cross-links to form a strong chemical bond. ClearShield is completely transparent, chemically inert, non-hazardous and UV stable.

The ClearShield System, providing unique proven solutions for the renovation, protection and maintenance of both new and installed glass, has won numerous awards including the prestigious Prince of Wales Award for Innovation and has appeared on BBC's 'Tomorrow's World' programme.
